Positive sentiments supported the concept in 56.8% of metaverse-related tweets from Vietnam.
A recent analysis of over a million tweets revealed a list of countries that love and hate the metaverse, with Vietnam leading the way on one end of the spectrum and Ireland on the other.
CoinKickoff, a cryptocurrency data website, analyzed 1.6 million tweets from around the world to determine which countries support and oppose the metaverse concept. Vietnam topped the list of countries in favor, with 56.8% of metaverse tweets from the Southeast Asian country being positive.
East Asian countries were generally supportive of the idea. Aside from Vietnam, the Philippines, Ukraine, Nigeria, and Indonesia ranked among the top countries in terms of metaverse support.
Meanwhile, Ireland topped the list of countries with the most tweets critical of the metaverse. According to the data, 14.4% of metaverse-related tweets from the European country were negative.
The Western countries were the most hostile to the metaverse. Aside from Ireland, Denmark, New Zealand, the United States, and Canada had the most tweets criticizing the metaverse.
Meanwhile, metaverse use cases are evolving over time. Jennifer Roberts, a partner at Woodstock Ventures, told Cointelegraph in a recent interview how the Woodstock music festival is using the metaverse to reinvent its future and preserve its legacy. The metaverse, according to Roberts, is a “democratizing experience” and a place where people can celebrate what they believe in.
Nokia, best known for its mobile devices, has also entered the metaverse to connect remote beer breweries and aircraft technicians. The chief technical officer of Nokia Oceania, Robert Joyce, recently told us that Nokia has been conducting joint experiments to use the metaverse in various ways.
